Snow Globes Mould
Introducing the Snow Globes Mould, a darling addition to your cozy winter traditions. This one’s all about creating your own little fantastical Christmas world with classic holiday details.

The Snow Globes Mould is just the kind of sweet project that turns into a treasured family tradition, gathering everyone around the table to craft darling ornaments destined to become cherished heirlooms.

Each globe is designed with timeless details, perfect for layering in smaller elements from your favorite holiday transfers or vintage labels from Figgy & Flourish. Place two castings back-to-back for a dimensional ornament, or build a nostalgic winter scene inside the globe for a Christmas keepsake.

The 2 most common mediums used for furniture, jewelry, or home decor accents are Air Dry Clay and casting resin

IOD Air dry clay also called paper clay is an air dry medium.   Like other paper pulp based air dry clays, some shrinking, warping, and cracking is expected and results in a distressed, authentically vintage look.  Suggested way to apply molded pieces is to take them out of the mould while still moist, then adhere to your project with your favorite glue, ensuring it conforms well. If the surface is vertical, you can use a piece of low tack tape to hold it in place to keep it from sliding.

Casting resins have completely different qualities than the paper clay.  There are some great pourable resins available.  It will not shrink or warp, and the casting is more consistent. Depending on your project, these qualities can be helpful. If you need to conform your casting to a curved surface,  you will need to remove it from the mould before it’s completely hardened.

Most of the time a release agent is not needed and the casting will come out easily.  However, if you are having any trouble with the material sticking (more common with clay) then a light dusting of cornstarch or arrowroot is works great.
