Victoriana Mould
Say hello to Victoriana, a Victorian-inspired mould ready to adorn the sweetest holiday keepsakes. These dainty little bits are the perfect elegant adornments for special projects.
Victoriana is filled with ornate details to dress up your pretties with vintage sophistication. Picture a festive focal point on a keepsake box, or a delicate brooch centered on a handmade ornament. Use the tassels to add a touch of luxe to small furniture corners or drawers, because why not give those petite pieces the royal treatment?
We especially love Victoriana for holiday baking. Imagine the enchanting fondant details that look like they came straight from a Victorian tea party. 🩷
The 2 most common mediums used for furniture, jewelry, or home decor accents are Air Dry Clay and casting resin
IOD Air dry clay also called paper clay is an air dry medium. Like other paper pulp based air dry clays, some shrinking, warping, and cracking is expected and results in a distressed, authentically vintage look. Suggested way to apply molded pieces is to take them out of the mould while still moist, then adhere to your project with your favorite glue, ensuring it conforms well. If the surface is vertical, you can use a piece of low tack tape to hold it in place to keep it from sliding.
Casting resins have completely different qualities than the paper clay. There are some great pourable resins available. It will not shrink or warp, and the casting is more consistent. Depending on your project, these qualities can be helpful. If you need to conform your casting to a curved surface, you will need to remove it from the mould before it’s completely hardened.
Most of the time a release agent is not needed and the casting will come out easily. However, if you are having any trouble with the material sticking (more common with clay) then a light dusting of cornstarch or arrowroot is works great.
